Virginia Opera: The Pirates of Penzance
Appropriate Audience: Grades K-5, Community
A century before "The Pirates of the Caribbean," W.S. Gilbert and Arthur Sullivan invented pirate comedy in the zany operetta. A cast of three tells the story of young Fredrick's struggles to free himself from servitude to the infamous Pirate King and marry the lovely Mabel. Sure to be loved by all and a wonderful introduction to the world of music.
