A Secret Revealed

Ends October 31st

Atrium Gallery Show (floors 2 and 3)

Ludovic Bowe was born in Philadelphia, PA, but has spent most of his life in Hampton, VA. As a child Ludovic drew and painted and took art classes in school through High School. After graduating from High School, working in several fields, getting married and raising a family, Ludovic decided to pursue art again. In 2006 Ludovic earned an associate’s degree in Fine Art and began to enter artwork in local art shows and exhibits in Hampton Roads.

Ludovic works primarily with acrylics on canvas, but has done mixed media, watercolor, photo manipulation, and photography.

Ludovic is influenced by the Impressionist and post-Impressionist periods and that is reflected in some of his artwork. Ludovic’s artwork is diverse, some pieces are traditional, some are modern, and some include both traditional and modern elements, and include land/cityscapes, portraiture, abstracts, still lifes and some works that defy definition.

Being African-American, the culture and history of Black America is also represented in the subject matter of some of his paintings, including his love of music, especially jazz.

Ludovic’s artwork has won awards; he has had artwork commissioned by institutions and private collectors, and artwork purchased by the City of Hampton.
